 CHAOS GODS

There are four Chaos Gods: wrathful Khorne, devious Tzeentch, pestilential Nurgle and cruel Slaanesh. All are jealous and prideful deities, each believing himself destined to be the supreme ruler of all existence. Yet the gods seldom lower themselves to direct confrontation with one another – such is the business of minions, not omnipotent masters.

In the Chaos Wastes, you may encounter areas that are cursed. When you enter a cursed area, the landscape itself is influenced by its current ruler which dramatically changes the way you need to play.

 KHORNE

Khorne is the Blood God, the Lord of Battles. He has no subtlety in his black heart, no yearning for beauty of form. His immortal frame holds room only for rage and slaughter-lust. He prizes only the skulls of the fallen, and cares not from whence the blood flows, only that it does. Fed as he is by death and destruction, Khorne is reckoned the mightiest of the Chaos Gods – though circumstance can see him briefly eclipsed by his dark brothers as their own schemes rise to prominence.

 TZEENTCH

Tzeentch is the Changer of the Ways, the Great Conspirator, the architect of the fate of the universe. He takes great delight in the plotting and politicking of others, and favours the cunning over the strong, the manipulative over the violent. None of Tzeentch’s schemes are simple, and indeed often appear contradictory. Whilst he is not above sullying his hands with the blood of war, Tzeentch much prefers to win his battles through guile. For Tzeentch, scheming is not the means to an end, it is an end in and of itself.

 NURGLE

Nurgle can truly be called the Father of All Pestilence, for his immense frame is home to every disease known to mortals. His skin is greenish, leathery and necrotic, its surface pockmarked with running sores, swelling boils and numerous infected lesions. Nurgle's inner organs, rank with decay, spill through the ruptured skin to hang like obscene fruit around his girth. From these organs burst tiny Daemons that chew on the rotting bowels and suck upon the nauseous juices within. When Nurgle unleashes his ghastly pestilences, his power grows temporarily overshadowing that of all the other Chaos Gods combined. It is for this reason that Nurgle commands a wary respect from all of his brothers.

 SLAANESH

Of all the Dark Gods, Slaanesh alone is divinely glamorous: long-limbed and elegant, with a haunting androgynous beauty. It is impossible for mortals to look upon that divine face without losing their souls, for all who see the Dark Prince become slaves to his slightest whim. Slaanesh is a patron of excess and perfection in arts, battle … and more besides. Those who revere him plumb every experience to its uttermost depths, far beyond the shores of mortal endurance until pleasure and pain lose all meaning.
